Recommendation for Reasonably Priced (under $400.00) user friendly Camcorder

by Ellen Landauer

Hi Peter,

I am a fellow SBI'er and want to do a trailer to publicize my as yet unpublished book. I got the bug using a friend's Flip video camera and saw how great the results.

Would like to edit in IMovie also.

Need a camera easy enough for others to help me take videos, complex enough to have great resolution and ease in downloading to computer.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your suggestion!

That reasonably priced, huh!

Obviously you have a wealth of information here and I feel I can learn more than I need to know here.

I'll check out those products on your site here and let you know how this rank newbie to web video progresses ;-)

I would get a Kodak Zi8 HD pocket camcorder, a tripod, and a lavalier 'lapel' microphone and you'd still get change from $200!

Click on the 'tripod' and 'microphones' links on the left for my personal recommendations.

The Zi8 creates MOV HD video files, so no problem with them in iMovie HD.

This camcorder will produce stunning HD quality video in good lighting conditions.

Hope that helps, and best of luck?

Mr Video :-)
