USB Mic and Flip HD

by Walker Clark
(San Diego, CA)

Hello. I'm extremely new to the audio video world. I am using audio and video for two reasons: 1) to have video clips on my website that I've filmed, 2) to create cds and dvds of certain topics I want to discuss--kind of a video podcast so to speak.... I'd love to be able to have people download video to their ipods if possible. At any rate, my question is: can I use my flip HD camera with the snowball usb mic? Will they work together? Otherwise, should I get a different video camera and a separate mic that plugs into the camera? Thank so much for your help!

USB Mic and Flip HD

Hi Walker,

If you plan on producing lots of videos and make DVDs, then you really need to buy a decent HD camcorder and an external microphone.

I Flip camera and separate mic just isn't going to cut it I'm afraid.

Click on the 'cheap camcorders' and 'microphones' links to the left for my personal recommendations.

I also recommend you get Sony Movie Studio video editing program, which includes Sony Architect for making DVDs.

Best of luck with your videos.
